The moodboard moment
Next comes the inspiration phase. As new seasons or ideas take shape, I start adding items that catch my eye to a digital moodboard—colors, materials, shapes, textures. Some are pieces I’ve spotted from afar, others are ideas that have been sitting in my head waiting for the right moment. -
Finding the right makers
Then, the search begins. I look for independent brands and small makers who align with our values-beautiful craftsmanship, thoughtful production, and quality that feels good in your hands. I spend days reviewing collections, visiting trade shows, asking questions, and making sure everything fits KITI’s standard. -
Curating the collection
With a growing list of possible pieces, I build a private Pinterest board and start playing with the combinations. Themes emerge and collections come together and I create a product matrix. This is where the real curating happens: what complements what, what stands out, what fills a gap, and what has to go. -
Bringing it to life
Once the selection is final, it’s time to get everything online and reimagine the shop layout. This is where the hours really stack up: photographing, writing descriptions, styling shelves, and making sure everything feels cohesive whether you’re shopping in person or browsing from your sofa.
