A Weekend in Porto: Unexpected Stops & Inspired Finds

A Weekend in Porto: Unexpected Stops & Inspired Finds

We just got back from Porto with hearts (and suitcases) full. There's something about the way the light hits the azulejos—the iconic painted tiles—that makes everything feel a little cinematic. While the Ribeira and Livraria Lello are must-sees for a reason, we wanted to share a few unexpected gems we stumbled upon that felt very KITI—beautiful, independent, full of soul.

So if you're planning a weekend escape or dreaming of your next city break, here’s our mini guide to Porto that goes beyond the postcards.

MUD was one of our favorite discoveries. Think soft textiles and handmade pieces that feel both grounded and refined. We spent a long time here (maybe too long?) selecting a single blanket from their colorful selection.

For dinner, Flow was unforgettable. Lush plants, moody lighting, high ceilings—it felt like a hidden gem in NYC. The menu is a blend of seafood and Italian influences, and every bite felt thoughtful. Order one fish and one meat option and share. You’re welcome.

Claus Porto is probably on your radar already, but their flagship boutique is worth a special visit. It’s housed in a restored Belle Époque building and smells like heaven. The packaging is a dream, and the whole experience feels indulgent in the best way.

Wine lovers, don’t miss Enoteca 17:56. It’s more than just a wine bar—it’s a whole vibe. Sip Douro reds while watching the sunset over the river, or treat yourself to their tasting menu. It’s polished but relaxed, and a lovely way to spend an evening.

SAVRA was the perfect last-morning brunch spot. Cozy, bright, and full of plants—it’s the kind of café you want to move into.

Travel always fuels what we do at KITI—whether it’s the palette of Porto’s tilework or the charm of an independent shop. If you’re planning your own trip soon, let us know. We love helping our community discover places with heart!
